How it works

Step 1: Get in touch and make an appointment!

At this stage I ask you to sign a form agreeing to my terms and conditions and pay a 50% deposit. This is refundable (less expenses) if you aren’t satisfied with the outcome of the photoshoot!

Step 2: Choose your location!

I want to capture your dog at his or her happiest. So think about where you take them for walkies - is there anywhere they particularly love to go? A favourite walk that has amazing views? Or the best beach in the world? I will travel anywhere within the UK (within reason!), but may ask for travel expenses to be reimbursed up front for shoots outside of North Wales. However, please note that I will not take photos of your dog off-lead in inappropriate locations - this includes on open access land during the bird breeding season (1st March - 31st July), or where livestock are present.

Step 3: Get your furry friend looking their best!

I can only work with what’s in front of me. All dogs are beautiful but sometimes, some might need a trip to the groomers to unleash that beauty in time for their photoshoot - as my own Cairn Terrier can demonstrate! And the same applies to you: I often try to capture images of dogs and their handlers interacting with each other, so it is worth thinking about your own appearance on the day of the shoot, as well.

Step 4: Think about any special requests!

I always endeavour to take a wide variety of photos during a shoot, but if you wish for me to capture a particular behaviour, pose, or setting, make sure to let me know beforehand.

Step 5: Keep an eye on the weather (and don’t worry, so will I)!

Let’s face it, if the rain is pounding down, we aren’t going to get the best photos. So, as your photoshoot day approaches, I will keep in contact with you regarding the weather forecast. I reserve the right to postpone your appointment if I don’t think the weather will be suitable - and equally, I grant you the same right. I will rearrange as many times as necessary to get the right weather for your shoot, at no extra cost.

Step 6: The big day!

We meet at your specified location and go for a walkies. Some of the time I will ask you to get your dog to pose, or to interact with them in specific ways. At other times I will blend into the background and take ‘candid’ photos of your dog - and you - enjoying quality time together.

Step 7: The preview gallery!

Within a few weeks of your photoshoot, I will send you a link to an online gallery where you can view watermarked previews of your images. This is the stage at which you decide whether to pay the photoshoot fee! If you are happy with the outcome, I will send you all the images in high-resolution, non-watermarked, digital format upon receipt of payment. If you cannot find a single photo in your gallery that you think justifies the cost of my photoshoot package, we shake hands (virtually) and part as friends, at no cost to yourself!

Physical prints and souvenirs

I don’t currently have the facility to produce high-quality prints (or other photo-printing souvenirs), but I am happy to support you in finding and ordering these if you wish.
